This view is seen from the hedgerow the bull finch watches the orchard in relative safety. The Victorian gardeners deemed this secretive bird as a “blossom picker” causing the reduction of fruit growth in the orchard. To the extent that people were paid to catch the bull finches.
We presently realise that they can live safely in harmony in the orchards.
